The Will Of A Merciful God Towards A Sinful Man

Will — the quality or state of being prepared to do something; readiness. The Eagerness to do what is needed.

Oh the wonders of the white throne, in some cases the white room with a white throne. A kingdom to many and place of comfort for a lot more. Little wonder it’s also our one stop shop for cleanliness- incase you’re lost, it’s the bathroom. For me it’s where I go to meditate, study, pray and also get answers.

By God’s will we have been purified and made holy once and for all through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus, the Messiah! Hebrews 10:10

It took a willing God to endure and fulfill all he intended towards me plus 7.9 billion more people. He also took into account the past, present and future ones yet unborn.

I know how many times I’ve told myself “never ever would I do this for A or B” yet my conscience finds a way of pricking and reminding me why I should be less human and more spiritual, and also, why I should be less self centered and more selfless.

God in human form would have been irritated and tired of mere things or daily needs that trouble us such as a comfortable soft bed with feather filled pillows, a car, a trip abroad or a hot bath. A modern day selfish Jesus would have thought out loud — Darn, why do I have to trek this far, just to go raise up Lazarus? Can’t we bolt it? All these would have been enough to change his mind and return to his heavenly abode if he wasn’t “Willing.”

He endured it all and I believe when people ‘got’ to him, he thought of a Lilian, a Michael, an Iman, a Lucy, a Johnson, an Nkem, a Labake! He projected everyone before him and willingly moved on until his journey of sacrifice was complete.

His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation. Hebrews 12:2

Remember when he was denied entrance to a village? He could have lashed out angrily “wo (a Nigerian parlance expressing disgust or discomfort) do these people know how much they need me more than I need them? If them broke na their business o!”

To will, is to do, lovingly.

Without “love & will’— verb, it would have been another forced, futile, grunting-along the way journey equating to the animal sacrifices offered for the atonement of sins in the OT.

If his will was that compelling, how much are you willing to lay down your own life for another until Jesus be revealed in and through them?

Remember the intent of Jesus dying wasn’t just to save us, but to express Him through us.

From the beginning it was “be fruitful and multiply,” and upon His departure, He left us with this charge, “go ye into the world.” When our obedience is complete then can the knowledge and glory of The Lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.
